4th December: The Battle of Lund, the bloodiest battle in Nordic history, fought between Swedish and Danish forces on the plains outside Lund in Skåne, took place today in 1676. It was part of the War of Skåne, fought mainly in the province between Sweden and Denmark-Norway.

I didn’t realize that I had learned the sexist Swedish word for gossip until my Swedish teacher looked at me with disappointment me when I used it.
It’s frustrating because I know historical and etymological roots for why a word like hysterical is sexist but kärringprat is just a black box for me.

I’m a fifth through Joe Abercrombie’s The Devils and it’s good-ish. The pacing is a bit stuttering and I’ve read enough of his novels to suspect who is a who is not a trustworthy character.
