This is one of the most beautiful pieces of knitting I’ve ever seen. I hope you do finish it and share, but I get that tastes vary. Who’s the designer?

I just spent my weekend writhing in pain trying to get my rib back in place because I contorted my body around a cat in my sleep. It’s a 20 year old injury that gets easier and easier to flare.

They’re on DoorDash where I live. The substitutions are usually pretty relevant, occasionally odd (still food in the same section, but not a direct parallel)… To get to the fun stuff, there’s a different screen you have to find. It won’t show up if you’re just scrolling.

It’s both. It’s absolutely both.

If you ever get a chance to hear Kaveh Akbar read, take it and bring your friends. I was lucky enough to attend an author talk for this book, and it was such a beautiful experience.

I am. What are you seeing that I’m not?

Is it? The crease lines aren’t raised, except the life line around the thenar eminence.

How is that possible, if the surface is raised? An impression would leave the negative — to get this, you’d need to intentionally create a new positive, using the original, dried impression as a mold.

Absolutely gorgeous! I love the texture and the fit.

My chomper had an epiphany that she hurts me, so when she gets too overstimulated and tempted to be aggressive, she rolls over and bunny kicks her own feet until it passes. It looks a bit like she’s using emphatic hand gestures to tell me to fuck off, but so cute.

There was a Nepali restaurant in Minneapolis that had the most phenomenal bison mamacha, and they also had hands down the best chai I’ve had in the US. I’m also haunted by the Russian punch cake at Demel in Salzburg. I don’t even like cake most of the time, but this made me want to cry.

I’m so happy you find it helpful! I learned it in massage school.

Ignore if not helpful, but something that can help deepen a stretch while reducing the chance of injury is to stretch to the first point of mild tension, squeeze the muscle and release, then deepen. It interrupts a reflex to resist the stretch.

I have never wanted to move to Illinois before, but this has me thinking about Tetris-ing my stash into a box truck. I hope you get all the support you need for election!

Elara is currently Benini, and she just turned two, my little prodigy.
