I've been thinking ALOT about They Called Us Enemy by George Takei in collaboration with Eisinger, Scott & Becker

It's a graphic novel memoir about Takei's childhood growing up in Japanese American internment camps

An absolutely essential read for right now

Took a couple hours to do some social media admin and try and get some consistency across the various places I exist on (profile pictures aside 😅)

I'm really in my non-fiction era rn, I'm currently reading my 3rd this month!

The Science Of Racism by Keon West is about gathering scientific data showing when & where racism occurs

There's actually a huge amount of evidence across a wide variety of study areas

Whenever I wanna revel in how much I love the disabled community and how we shape our realities, essay collections edited by Alice Wong are immediately what I reach for 🥰

Disability Intimacy is so beautiful & the way it celebrates all kinds of love & desire filled my soul with warmth 🖤

Whenever I see a piece of news or legislation attacking my community, I take comfort in the horror genre 🖤

Horror has a fantastic way of giving voice to our anger, our pain & our anxiety about the future 🔥

I hope you find some solace here 💙🩷🤍🩷💙

Currently Reading - Crippled: Austerity and the Demonization of Disabled People
Book by Frances Ryan

I needed some non fiction today & as a disabled persom in Britain myself, I've been feeling the weight of this austerity, hopefully this'll give some much needed catharsis
