This btw is the cover of my first and so far only novel. I pinned it over at Twitter and it had 9.5K views and for me that was extraordinary. The publisher (AUC Hoopoe) managed to find a picture of pretty much the exact Baghdadi house where the novel mostly takes place.

Aw thank you. This one made me a little nervous, to write and to share.

I once made a confused class of first year comp students write about capuchin monkeys, long story, it was an elegant and multi-layered assignment that required them to read a peer reviewed article on how they gather fruit..... should have stuck to My Summer Holidays prob.

There are and the names are related. I could tell you how I know this but would expose myself as a nerdy and tedious pseudo biologist.

Indeed. And posh people say they don't see why they should support charities (or charity staff be paid). And there go Universities, museums, medical research, opera, theatre and Hospices, for starters - the stuff they need -- before you even get to people in need of foodbanks and housing.

Totally. Prepare for the worst (but no hellfire surely) and hope for the best. Who can say? JG herself was strong in her spiritual beliefs.

That Emily, she needed a pink heart couch.

Me neither on both counts, but in heaven? Who knows.

She and Robert Redford are now the official greeters in the great ballroom of heaven. Imagine arriving there and RR takes your coat with a roguish smile, and JG leads you to a seat with a forest view. And both offer you a fabulous white wine. Imagine.

How on earth did I not know this before - or this poet's work - how much better my life is already for knowing it. Thank you Sean. (Just read The Prodigal Son too....)

What a brilliant teacher.

Just don't do what I do and delete it tomorrow. And then decide to go adverb hunting (shoot em on sight).

She was extraordinary and I love this poem too.

and then there's suicide....

Dear LRB Bookshop, you set a timer on your phone. Three of them. PS thank you for once carrying my book when I begged!

She’s the bees’ knees.

Also don't buy one if you have a dog with a prey drive.

And she's wearing a smart watch thingy, which may be a bit show offy but she can well afford the gesture. Presumably it counts each note as a step, so can rack up a million a day.
esloudon.bsky.social
Ridiculous. She's straight from the stars.

I think it's Boden and I nearly ordered it yesterday.
