If you watched the Twitch stream of #MidwestGridFest I said in my interview with Randy that next week's WaPo Sunday crossword was inspired by a phrase I thought of during playtime with my son. That was incorrect; that puzzle is actually today's crossword. I just mixed up when it would be published.

At indie tourneys the vibe is different.. Hard to explain but basically they give u an orb instead of pencils. u must divine the answers thru orb heat.

There was a joke crossword that Peter Gordon once made during the World Cup that had a 1A clue like [With 5-, 12-, 16- ...-Across, World Cup cry] for every Across clue and the whole grid was GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL (with however many O's it needed).
