These "outdated narratives" that the CEO of Portland Metro Chamber is referring to here were being espoused by him last week, when he called for shutting the Central Library down because the surrounding area was too violent.

Despite 40% of homeless youth identifying as LGBTQ+ compared to less than 10% of the population, the city of Portland has NO resources specifically for the housing of LGBTQ+ youth.

Washington County has been doing a great job with encouraging more density in its development in the last 15 years. However, it still only has 3 census tracts with a density of over 10k/sq. mi.: the east side of downtown Hillsboro, across the street from Progress Ridge, and Orenco Station's TOD.

The only mass transit systems in the US that are expanding, Seattle and LA, are both planning for this too, with construction or expansion of Line 4 in Seattle and the C and K lines in LA. Portland is already falling behind.

For reference, the BsAs Subte (F and H connecting non-central areas) and the G on the NYC Subway versus TriMet’s bottleneck system where all lines are built to shuttle folks from suburbs to downtown.

It’s not enough to be right. We need to be right and WIN. I believe we have a moral obligation to be EFFECTIVE in addition to having a just stance, otherwise who are we doing this for?

In the latest Marion County vote drop, challenger Lesly Muñoz leads incumbent Republican Rep. Tracy Cramer in the HD22 by ONE VOTE.

If this holds, Democrats will have supermajorities in both houses of the Oregon Legislature for the first time since 1984—a period of 40 years.
