White’s tree frogs are great climbers thanks to their large flat toe pads. These toe pads have a sticky surface consisting of interconnecting discs, which squeeze together allowing the White’s tree frog to grip surfaces for climbing and jumping. #AnimalOfTheMonth 🧵1/2

White’s tree frogs are medium-sized frogs, but are considered large among tree frog species specifically. Adults grow to between 7-11.5 cms (3-4.5”) in length. Females are typically larger than males. #AnimalOfTheMonth 🧵1/4

White’s tree frogs (Litoria caerulea) are endemic to Australia and southern New Guinea. There are introduced populations in New Zealand and Florida. #AnimalOfTheMonth

Canaries can live an average of 10 years. But they are capable of living much longer than that. The oldest canary on record - as recognized by Guinness World Records - is Joey, who lived in Hull, UK and died in April 1975 at the age of 34. #AnimalOfTheMonth
