…if you actually read Marx (I have) he advocates the wholesale abolition of private property as an institution. What Mamdani proposes isn’t close to that. Funding food programs doesn’t equate to property abolition. This whole thing is a tempest in a large teapot.

Trust me (and this is obvious): Madani is going to have to come to heel as least to some degree whether he and his advisors want it or not. And remember: he isn’t a communist. His personal wealth comes from property he owns in Uganda. Communists don’t believe in private ownership of property.

…l mean that’s a thing in this country’s politics. Yes, we should know who the stage crafters are. But it’s all suspiciously circular: conservatives always point to the privilege of many Leftists and Leftist leaders *usually* come from the bourgeoisie. Is this really surprising?
