I guarantee you the trainings he’s done in the private sector have the same if not more absurd issues.

Hello fellow kids.

What time? Just curious. Auto-text was 12:48 pm.

On this, I did look at the Choose How You Move Map. There is proposed sidewalks at the north and south end of Old Harding, and there is already some sidewalks on those ends. The issue is the middle, which is why I turned to the infrastructure map.

I was looking into Ariza yesterday. I haven't heard anything about that since last year. I'm starting to wonder if financing fell through.

But, yeah, that connected greenway would be nice.

Nope, Beech Bend is 22. Though this does affect 34 too
ezrahowru.bsky.social
You in 34? I'm in 22. DMs are open. Let's talk.

It's confounding. It's arterial to so many neighborhoods, connects 70 to 100, goes between the elementary and middle school, yet no sidewalks or bike lanes. Some areas would need to be widened for them, others not.

Furthermore, in these five census tracts along the 3 mile stretch of Old Harding there are 21,532 people. With kids being about 21% in any given population, that's around 4,500 kids.
3 miles of sidewalks and bike lanes means an incredible jump in walk-ability and safety for this part of Bellevue.

That's a long trek (pun!) to say that Old Harding needs a bike lane... and more sidewalks... down the whole stretch.

Not just for biking the kid to school, but because it's a pretty major road not to have them. It connects a lot of neighborhoods, multiple schools, a library, and shopping centers.
ezrahowru.bsky.social
But I wanted to see if something was in the works, so I looked at the Neighborhood Improvement Tracker.

Nada. It marks the a paused project to complete the bike lane down Sawyer Brown but nothing for Old Harding.
ezrahowru.bsky.social
I originally thought anything with "pike" in the name was a state road. This seems incorrect and that Old Harding is a county road.

I understand the higher traffic, but combined with the lack of bike lanes and side walks means this route is essentially a non-starter.
ezrahowru.bsky.social
Here's the problem. Old Harding Pike.

It's the second longest stretch at just a little shorter than Coley Davis. It also has almost no sidewalks, no bike lane, but it's heavily trafficked and the speed limit, IIRC, is 45 mph. Though there are lights so it tends to be slower.

Good thing is, Hwy 70 is unnecessary. I could cut through the parking lots pass the Home Depot, that Jonathan's Grille where the anti-vax meet market goes on, the post office (AKA Gem of the US Govt.), and right down Sawyer Brown, which has less traffic and has a bike lane.
