Day 7 we didn’t do a whole lot. Mostly drove back to the city for food and shopping. We did go to our favorite local bar and likely drink way too much. I recommend the fermented shark ;)

Eating fermented shark with a shot of Brennivin (also known as Iceland’s Black Death). The shark smelled like feet and ammonia and the shot was the bad part. 😌😅

Day 6 was a busy one. We went down to the ocean and tripped around some rocks before heading over to a lava cave tour (which was scary and cool) before finishing off on the cliffs right next to our airbnb. Heading back to Reykjavik tomorrow for two more days before heading home.

Day 5 was a big travel day. We headed north to Hellnar for some hiking tomorrow and on the way stopped at a small hot spring. The snow storm yesterday put a big damper on some plans but we’re powering through. Hoping to see the northern lights this evening.

Day 4 was a snow day. We had some car troubles starting off but made it to our reservation at the green house and then headed further east to our stop for the night. Heading up north tomorrow for hopefully better weather and new sights.

Day 3 we headed east to see some geysers, the crater lake, and lots of mountains. We’re finishing off the night in the dome and hot tub cursing the clouds for hiding the northern lights.

Day 2 was spent in Reykjavík learning about the phallus, seeing some sights, and eating shrimp and eggs. Somehow even more exhausting than the hot spring hike.

Day 2 was spent in Reykjavík learning about the phallus, seeing some sights, and eating shrimp and eggs. Somehow even more exhausting than the hot spring hike.
