I personally love it when people do that.
It's not a necessity and I get why some people aren't comfortable drawing, but it's always been really helpful each time I got doodles from people who commissioned me. :'p

i occasionally get questions if i take ai slop or written text as reference and i do not - just open up mspaint and hand me one of these bad boys, maybe a couple refs for the hair and bodytype and you have a million times better shot of getting a ref slot

Trying to make a distinction from "this is art the artist makes to deal with trauma" and "this is the artist's very clear fetish" puts the privacy of real life victims at risk. I shouldn't have to give you a laundry list of all my triggers and traumas for you to decide my art has the right to exist
