Bots are absolutely permitted (Congressional Bill Bot?) and it relies entirely on user investment, they have no cash otherwise.

It’s a cult.
Check out Spoutible. It's bot-free and self-sustaining.

I'm just disappointed that I was one of the eighteen people who signed up for Spoutible.

catching up on all of the "this shit sucks too" takes on Blue Sky...

So why did everyone land here instead of Spoutible? The noods?

Christopher Bouzy, deep in a thread where people are talking about migrating to Mastodon or the comments section on a particular recipe on Food Network dot com, posting on an obvious burner account somehow doing a fake voice in text form: I say we all go to Spoutible

The Spoutible founder is pretty nuts so I can’t say that’s a huge improvement

I was just remembering Spoutible. It was really buzzy and promising and it had explosive growth for its first couple of weeks. Then its publisher turned out to be a whiny baby who kept publicly shitting the bed and everyone left.

I don't think Jay and her band of God's lost bets understand the degree to which everyone not currently on Bluesky has already decided it's the Faggy App for Trans Commies. They aren't going to come here just because you run us off! We're all that's keeping you from being Spoutible.

People are making comparisons to Twitter but I feel like Spoutible is the better lesson on what happens when heads of social media companies respond with shit posting and personal insults to knowledgeable users giving them thoughtful feedback. And if you don't remember Spoutible: exactly.

Spoutible hasn’t shared user data since 2023

They spent all of what they crowdfunded in 2024.

Now they’re asking for more investment, claiming they’ll be worth 28 million without a spec of data.

They makes $1500/month from Google Ads.

Be for real.
There's Spoutible, which is growing and has unobtrusive ads, so it is self-sustaining.

Nods. Saw the spoutible mess go down in real time, was told to promote my (rather cleanish) work on porn sites by the pearl-clutchers because they wouldn't keep their phones from their precious little grandkids.
Yeah. Riiight.

I haven’t been able to access my Spoutible account for 3-4 days. I’ve tried everything. There seems to be nowhere to report this to them. That’s probably why there are no people on it. I think it is a terrible platform.

Matt, why should anyone invest if Spoutible won’t answer this very simple question?

Great question from a potential Spoutible investor that Christopher will never answer.

(The answer is he won’t share user and traffic data because it is very embarrassing)

Are the journalists in the room with us now?
Are you on Spoutible? The proprietor is African American and there is a strong AA community there, including many journalists who would help spread the word.

When the “Friends Invest First” event lasts over a week and only gets one investor, you might have a problem.
