I've removed my original reply since my tabulation was incorrect, so as not to mislead people. Regardless, No election system (or person) is perfect, but ranked choice voting is still far better than our current system and gives people more realistic choices.

@govpritzker.illinois.gov, @harmonil.bsky.social, and @speakerwelchil.bsky.social, let’s champion pro-democracy reform by bringing ranked choice voting to our presidential primaries! (🧵4/4)

RCV requires the winning candidate to have true majority support (>50%), which means the winning candidate is a true consensus choice that more voters in the party can actually be excited about. (🧵3/4)

Why should parties use RCV in primaries? It drives party unity. Under the current system, the winning candidate could win with <50% of the vote when many candidates are running, which leaves many party members disappointed and unenthused with their presidential candidate. (🧵2/4)

Since then, people in Evanston, Oak Park, and Skokie have voted to use RCV for local elections, and we have helped to educate thousands more across the state on the benefits of ranked choice voting.

Join us in wishing Rebecca the best in her future endeavors!
