started work on making chests again. couldn't find a simple way to do this so ended up brute forcing the code which is annoying but doesn't cause issues on the user end.
can store things in the chest, take them out etc

Started work on a basic shop system
its not pretty but you can buy 1, 5 or 10 of an item with it showing the relevant cost
of course i havent implement a money system yet but this works for now

made a scene template for the trees and made one of my own artwise
trying hard to not copy the art from the tutorial though i did end up using the palette from the trees as i just couldnt get the colours right
but now i can easily make plenty of types of trees for wood purposes

figured i should get back on to my bullshit again
fixed a minor issue with the save/load system and am slowly starting on converting the trees to the scalable item system with logs first
also got to make pixel art for the trees since the current art is not my own
