Unfortunately we may not have simultaneous multiplayer due to the way SMW was programmed. It would require a fundamental rewrite of some of the game to make it work, and especially stably, which we are not ready to really tackle.

As for take-turns multiplayer, we are still on the fence about it.

Glad you enjoyed our little game!

As for SD2SNES technical details, we made the hard decision of using MSU-1 and SA-1, which unfortunately requires newer, more powerful models which often have the FXPak Pro branding due to the FPGA switch at that time. SA-1 gives us more possibilities at least.

It's entirely up to the community to make different soundtrack packs for the game.

Due to certain copyrights depending on if we use other's songs, size and time constraints, and more, we won't make an in-house traditional Mario soundtrack, and we will only be distributing our soundtrack with SMBCD.

The team member that had originally recorded it is no longer on the team. To maintain parity between any songs or tracks that may use Barry in the future, we had it rerecorded.

We will not be divulging any specifics about the situation.

This short film will be treated like a “pilot episode” based in the universe of Super Mario Bros 2/USA with some exceptions. I hope to capture something that feels nostalgic and authentic. Hope to show more this year! Thank you all for your support!

Yeeah, very strange, and in such a random place too haha.

Indeed, there are very few that use it. I don’t exactly know why it wasn’t used often but, still very strange and random for this game to use hi-res mode.
famicomcd.org
Seems like that could be the hi-res mode.

Hi-res mode (512px) was seldom used in games on the Super NES, but you could enable a weird interlacing mode, or have proper 512px lines when using Mode 5 or Mode 6.

Mode 1, and Mode 7 were used most commonly for gameplay scenarios, and in general.

The FamicomCD website overhaul beta is here! The main page, SMBCD support sheet, and contact list have seen a facelift so far.

The language system is better than before too! Instead of having unique pages for every language, text loaded from txt files and is replaced on the fly!
