Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

In this time of growing Christian Nationalism, it is important to remember the *real* history of Thanksgiving. The Puritans didn't just come to the New World to flee persecution, they came here so they could be the ones doing the persecution.

Still probably my favorite, my graphic novel on the historical Macbeth. He’s the good guy! Or as much of a good guy as an 11th century Scottish warlord can be!

The most simple fact is: It makes sense because your consumers care about it. Set aside any facts about AI and just treat it as a black box component. If buyers say it factors into their purchasing decisions, then it matters to you because the point of your service is to sell what they want to buy.

To be clear Lizza’s story is that Nuzzi sat on important matters of national significance for personal benefit and he’s sat on these details until he could personally benefit.

All of DC media needs to be thrown into the sea. Anyone who defends these people is a goddamn clown.

Obviously I don't write for games (yet?? I guess??) but dialogue is absolutely the most fun part of writing and the fact that people are going "oh yeah I just streamline it no one cares about that stuff"

You have no soul, you have no spark, and you have no understanding of human enjoyment
Buy a solo indie dev's game because I want to support them.

Find out it uses OpenAI to write "non-important NPC dialogue".

About 40% of SNAP recipients are children. Around half of ALL children in the country are covered by Medicaid or the Children’s Health Insurance Program.

And the so-called “party of family values” gutted both programs by billions of dollars.

Doesn’t sound very pro-family to me.

Tired: getting back to my original weight (7 lbs 8oz)

Wired: reaching my ideal weight (-123 lbs)
Dr Oz announced that “Americans will lose 135 BILLION pounds by the midterms.”

Wow!!!

There are 342, 783, 851 Americans.
That means we will each lose 393 pounds!

This Day in Labor History: November 25, 1865. Mississippi created the first of the Black Codes. Designed to recreate slavery in all but name, this signified the South’s resistance to the freeing of their labor force and the lengths to which it would go to tie workers to a place under white control.

OK, we're leaving the asbestos *in* the stuff women put on their faces? And, the powder we put on kids' bums? Check!

Huh, some chick scientist says, “It only takes a single asbestos fiber lodged in the lungs to cause mesothelioma decades later.”

What me, worry?

Me too. When people boycott Amazon, they very rarely switch to buying their independently published books elsewhere. They just stop buying them and buy books from the big 5 publishers instead.
Hey #weaintbuyingit folks: My books are available worldwide through other stores (and libraries) besides Amazon, but Amazon has made up 95% of my sales (and the runner up is @queerliblib.bsky.social 💙)

When boycott waves happen, I haven't seen uptick in Kobo or B&N - I just see drops in all sales.

I really don’t think we can overstate the harm that the tech ethos of move fast and break things (followed by the unsaid “and then just move on”) has done beyond tech. Government, ngos, universities, public schools that have invited the folks who think like this in keep ending up gutted
All DOGE accomplished was purging critical government staff, handing private data to outsiders, and sentencing thousands in developing countries to death by gutting USAID.

I don’t say this lightly: if there were any justice in this world, the people responsible for this devastation would be in jail
DOGE 'doesn't exist' with eight months left on its charter
U.S. President Donald Trump's Department of Government Efficiency has disbanded with eight months left to its mandate.
