52, trans, lesbian. I make 'puters do my bidding. Cat mom.
I wonder if it ever get used to going to the office and get complemented on my look. It just feels unreal sometimes. Is this my life now? to have women just complement me out of the blue because they like what I wear? how can this be? 😲

Exactly.

Same with GirlGuides.
You know what?

If the WI had announced that it would completely cease operations in April rather than ban trans women, this whole bullshit thing would be sorted in a week.

OK, I guess it was bound to happen that men will start hitting on me on social media and I'm not into men even, but it was kind of... gender affirming, I guess?

I mean, someone telling me how pretty I am 🤯

He was kind of cute and not disgusting and also not a chaser, so I'll take the win. 😁

I think I would start with a long rest. 6 months of just... healing. I'm 52. I've been working since I was 22 non-stop. I have mental and emotional issues I need to attend to but I can't afford to take time for myself.

After that, I think I would go work in a community library. Open one, probably.
Honest question: If everyone got Universal Basic Income, no strings attached, what would YOU do with it?

The things with being trans is that it's very hard. I mean, even when things are going as well as they can be, it's very hard. Even if you're privileged as fuck, it's still so fucking hard. It's just fucking hard.

I've suffered from Psorasis all of my life. In the last 4 years pre transition, it evolved into Psoriatic arthritis so severe i had to take a daily dose of pain killers to be able to sleep and the drugs didn't seem to help. When doing baseline tests pre HRT I found out I have both E and T levels
I keep seeing "lol maybe I’m intersex? idk" "but you’re valid already! 💕" and yes babe, you very much are - and you’ll still be valid when your organs start a coup.

the hardest part about being trans is being forced to accept that your family probably kinda sucks, whereas if you're cis you can likely tolerate only seeing your lead-poisoned uncle a few times a year because "oh he's family". we don't really get the comfort nor convenience of cognitive dissonance.

This is still my funniest and under appreciated skeet by far
I've just had the craziest thought: when I get my SRS, I will technically be a virgin with two daughters, and we are technically Jewish and I don't think the world is ready for the 2nd coming of Jesus to be a lesbian who likes cosplay, but there we are.

There’s a thing about being trans and passing that seems to perplex new trans folk and did me, too, way back when. That older folk before me seemed less fussed about passing. It didn’t make sense - like, why bother? And I’ve only been able to put it into words recently. 🧵

I woke up to the sound of rain, realised my 1 year on HRT is coming up and the first thought I had was "wow, I survived."

Because deep down I didn't believe I will make it?

It was very hard but I never dreamt I would be where I am now after a year: just living my life as Emma.

You can do it ❤️

The Butlerian Jihad, but it's making Judith Butler's "“maleness” and “female-ness” are bogeymen concepts: we feel compelled to divide all human beings into two sexed types based on certain physiological criteria only as a way of attempting to anchor whatever gender norms happen to obtain", the norm.

Today is Intersex Day of Solidarity and Remembrance.

It's an opportunity to highlight the continued struggles faced by intersex people globally, from unnecessary medical intervention or stigma.

We all deserve to be treated with dignity, and live a life free from discrimination.

Can confirm. I was just past my 53rd birthday.

And then going from knowing the biology of sex determination being a bit fuzzy (bimodal distribution, shared traits, no one single definition etc) to *living* with the fallout from it and forced to be conscious of it every day IS A COMPLETE HEADFUCK.
We know from scientific research that up to 75% of intersex people with varations of sex chromosomes never become aware of this during their life.

You, a boring cis woman, might find yourself in the man section of a DHS holding facility and being charged with fraud just by traveling to the US.
1. A new proposed rule at the Department of Homeland Security would institute biological sex DNA testing of immigrants and visa applicants if DHS has reason to believe it would be relevant to their immigration status.

Ryanair have flights for 15 quid this time of year.

You’re welcome.
the minutes of the October meeting between WellBN and SussexICB are chilling. Andrew Dodson from the Sussex side just openly saying patients will be “deprescribed,” that they’ll have no choice and won’t be allowed to talk to the team taking their healthcare away
