London After Midnight gets more attention, but this is the silent era feature I feel the most sad I'll never get a chance to see. 😞

Yeahhh... as a diabetic myself, I can sort of see the logic behind being cagey about giving out insulin (though, as you point out, in most places it doesn't actually require a prescription, so they're still wrong...). But glucose tests? There's absolutely no risk to anyone there. 🤦

I feel like there was some genuinely great stuff in the 2000s and 2010s: Adventure Time, Steven Universe, the She-Ra reboot, etc. But it's been a while since anything noteworthy, sadly. 😞

Yeah. The reboot was... kinda disappointing to me, honestly. It wasn't awful, but it was formulaic compared to the anarchic vibe of the original. They pretty clearly just didn't want to do the loose format of the old show and the "it's too outdated/unfamiliar to kids" is a weak rationalization, IMO.

When they revived Animaniacs a few years ago, the staff justified dropping every recurring segment except the Warners and P&tB saying they were too unfamiliar to modern kids. Leaving aside that stuff like Chicken Boo is timeless, '90s kids (hopefully) weren't familiar with Goodfellas references....

It's not the most photogenic thing ever, but it's not even in the same solar system as the other three and, honestly, it looks like it would taste perfectly fine.

You're not wrong, in that 42 is a literary reference, but there's something to the point that, within the work, the point is that 42 has no point. It's different, but I think it sort of approximates something similar. 🤷
