I’ve been put on lists for all sorts of strange, sometimes wrong reasons, and been blocked by people who follow the same people I do, assume because they’ve used block lists without vetting. They’re irritating and misused.

This is a moderation list featuring accounts that frequently place users on moderation lists for silly reasons, thus causing issues for Bluesky users.
You might be able to help everyone by reporting lists to which you find you have been wrongly added.

I’ve created a moderation list made up of accounts that have added me to their moderation lists. Some of the reasons for adding people (though not all) range from "abusing starter packs" to following too many people, sharing other people's memes,

They add people to block lists out of spite for ridiculous reasons, then pretty soon people aren't getting many visits to there pages. People follow block lists without looking through them and end up blocking/muting people they wouldn’t have.

I was happy with the one I made, but it seems some people aren't.

For anyone who thinks they can do a better job writing this petition against the Weaponization of block/mute lists, or think it would do better on another site, go for it.

There's a block list here that includes people who block others for stupid reasons. Hopefully he included that one.

Some reasons it may be a weaponized list might be for adding people for having a blue heart in their bio, not liking their name, because they follow more than 5,000 people, stupid stuff like that.

I lot of people have maliciously been placed on block/mute lists just because they annoyed the list owner. A lot of people have seen their engagement drop because of it. If moderation lists are used responsibly it's fine, but when they're used as weapons they drive people away to other platforms.
