A giant turkey meal no longer seems like a treat. I'm happy with smaller portions, simple recipes, easy cleanup.
Our special occasion is based upon good company, conversation, music, games. For years, we served BBQ seafood & corn. Family & guests are welcome to bring side dish, desert.

I am seeing same extreme.
My grocer has gold specials, but it is not enough. Quantity or quantity must suffer. The biggest increases are in produce, dairy, fish. Staples, chicken, paper products seem in line with 2% - 3% inflation. Forget luxury items like baked cookies, premium bread, condiments.

Let me share a pet peeve about sport jackets. The men in my family are 6'3", or over, and slim, i.e. 34 trouser. A top imported designer jacket ( Armani, Zegna, etc) is too short, not covering the buttocks. The design looks "skimpy" on a tall slender guy. Bah !

Poor women lack access to maternity care. If a woman can get it at all, it is quite good.
If we just fix this inhumane access gap, we can greatly reduce maternal mortality. It is the right & absolutely necessary thing to do.
