Unhappy dragon dancing with storms before vs after.

Using this yellowish gradient was an absolutely chaotic decision, as it even looked pretty ugly alone. But only in the process and with the other two it started to shine ✨

There are lots of pros and cons to that method, the main drawback being it technically extends the time it takes to complete the art. But I find it is easier to choose colours that way, and I can easily make different palette versions :D

First digital art vs latest
2014 vs 2025

I recall I started off using super toxic green colours (didn't save that one), and someone gave me my first lesson on choosing nicer colours, which I tried in that old art first time. I still remember that comment...

I remember seeing a "life-hack" for drawing scales, and it was so silly of me not to save it, as now I can't find it...
It was something about drawing scales first as shapes on body, then lock the layer and paint on top of it with light and texture. Are you doing anything similar?
