For vibe coding, prototyping, or agentic development, the challenge isn’t getting your AI assistant to write code — it’s giving it an environment where that code actually runs, every time.

We’re heading to DevOpsDays Philadelphia! 🎉

Our very own Michael Stahnke will be on stage with a talk that cuts through the hype: how do you actually measure whether AI is improving developer experience?

We’ll also have a Flox team on site, so if you’re in Philly, come by, say hi, and let’s chat!

🟣 If you’re tired of “works on my machine” — Flox keeps your team in sync.
🟣 If you’re debugging weird dependency issues — Flox will give you a history you can roll back to.
🟣 If you’re onboarding new teammates — they can spin up the exact same environment in minutes, not days.

Nix has superpowers:

✅ It’s a cross-platform, cross-language, cross-toolchain package manager.
✅ It’s a virtual environment manager, offering the same huge breadth of platform, language, and toolchain support.
✅ It’s a declarative build system.

In this talk (coming on Saturday at DevOpsDays Ljubljana) Rok Garbas will show you how Nix can build OCI-compliant images with fully versioned, reproducible layers and how Flox simplifies the workflow.

The result? Deterministic build artifacts that Dockerfiles alone can’t deliver.

Layering vs. Composition in Flox

- Layering is flexible → grab what you need, when you need it, on-demand.
- Composition is more deterministic → define once, reuse everywhere, get predictable behavior.
