Just got my latest roll of film back from development and scanning. A lot of mishaps on this one. Trying to practice quick handling techniques. A couple good shots, but lots of blurry people. Grandma continues to be difficult to photograph.

I picked up some 200 ISO film for my camera and it’s feeling really constraining. It’s really good in bright light situations and I’m compelled to go around shooting at night or in low light. 400 is okay if you’re overexposing the film and generally pretty flexible.

I love that film stock can have wildly different results and even expired film can have incredible results.

I got the scans from the last couple weeks before thanksgiving back. Some of them I feel like are pretty good. Two are pretty gnarly in that they’re of a dead bird that was tied up to a post of the pier, but one of those two is pretty surreal in how it turned out

I need a film budget for my upcoming trip to Texas. i’m thinking like $70? I want to get a few rolls of normal film and one or two to experiment with.

I hate staying at family’s house more than I hate camping. Because I know with camping at least the discomfort is self imposed. But when it’s family it’s like, really, you give your guests a cardboard mattress, no charging stations, and 77 still air at night???

Pulled off a dope shot of Newport Beach pier just as a dolphin popped up out of the water. This shot that people have taken 1000 times before will surely get me recognition as an artist.

Okay. I have a feeling about the auto features on this camera. It’s kind of an impediment to learning. It functions fine but the the methodology is larhely opaque. It communicates some of the information to you but without knowing what it all means and its impact beforehand its meaningless.

I did watch a lot of youtube videos about film last night after that ad to learn about what the qualities are like. I really want to shoot in Cinestill 800T for that liminal look.

I’ve started to explore my cameras advanced functions and sweet geezus there’s a lot. I was talking to the guy at the film development place about film ISOs and thought to check if there’s a setting in the manual. And that was a rabbit hole. I don’t even understand half of this jargon.

I am very frustrated with the ideas of making impractical clothing and costumes practical. Looking at cyberpunk and sci-fi clothing and none of it is for my body type. Stupid huge body.

So we know there’s an AI bubble and lots of people think it’s going to pop. The question is… how? And when/if it does burst, how will the government bailing out something that is quantifiably insolvent backfire?

It’s incredibly frustrating to me when people don’t do really basic listening. It seems to happen to me quite a lot.
