We already know that lagged effects in CLPMs are likely to be upwardly biased, but just how easy is it to find significant effects? Way too easy. I tested CLPMS in 100 randomly selected pairs of correlated variables and found significant effects in 98 of them. New preprint: osf.io/preprints/ps...

Especially after Ta-Nehisi Coates schooled him? I mean man needs to look himself in the mirror.

Glad of these changes, love that they look more and more like github

STATS PEOPLE: Specifically, people who use Mplus for LPA/LCAs, do you have any references to why we do NOT need to use any family-wise error control for BCH distal outcome pairwise tests between class/profile solutions??

This is notable since Adherents reported the highest levels of various spirituality measures, which in this context would indicate a pattern of self-presentation that emphasizes exaggeration and self-promotion.
We discuss these and more in our paper.

In this new open-access paper, we demonstrate that the strongest supporters (i.e., "adherents") of Christian Nationalism are the most likely to inflate their connection to God. Moreover, adherents reported the highest spiritual grandiosity (e.g., "my prayers to God are more effective than others").

We found that environmental factors—especially religious conservatism and density of places of worship—were more strongly linked to psychological distress among sexual minorities, highlighting how structural stigma in one's environment may contribute to mental health disparities. (3/3)

Although numerous studies demonstrate religion's connection to LGBTQ+ health disparities through internalized and interpersonal stigma (Lefevor et al., 2024; Kim et al., 2025), little work has examined religion as a structural environmental factor. (2/3)

I feel like reviews could be more like grant reviews. Like simple but flexible scoring guidelines.

This is an alternative. Your repo can be set to private so they cannot find it by searching online either.

It even lets you anonymize a gh-page.

Yes please! Esp. LGBTQ+ journals, I don’t know of any that accept them

I love Registered Reports because it's no fun wrestling with reviewers about design decisions that we can do nothing about after data collection. But still, SO few journals in my research area accept them.

So I just fired off a load of this email. Here if you want to do the same: osf.io/n6bx9
screenshot of an email to editors, that is available in full in the link in the post

The judge intends to limit his order to universities in the plaintiff states (CA, MD, WA, AZ, CO, DE, HI, MA, MN, NV, NJ, NM, NY, OR, RI, WI), members of the plaintiff orgs (APHA, UAW), and the researchers named directly, he said today.

His written opinion will come in the coming days.

🚨 BREAKING: Nearly 4 months the NIH cut its first grants, a judge has ruled that the directives and process that led to cuts are arbitrary and capricious.

"The explanations are bereft of reasoning — virtually in their entirety... unsupported by [facts]."

Each of them are VOID and ILLEGAL, he says.

Are there any examples of this? Like you have to cite yourself in the article when using the figure AND include a CC-BY (if that is what you use)?

I thought the general rule was BIC as the best comparison metric?
