California is just gorgeous especially its oak-dominant landscapes, yes, I’m biased, oaks are my weakness! From oak savannas to dense woodlands and oak-conifer forests, it’s breathtaking. My favorite? Those golden pastures with iconic live oaks. 🌳🌾#Dendrophile #OakSavanna

Field work is a blast with an amazing lab crew! Huge thanks to
@PPhillipsAg, @AG__McCoy, and Jamie Walker for the awesome help setting up this unique experiment with bioformulations. Excited to track sclerotia degradation across treatments! @MartinChilvers1

The sap flow sensors are up and already transmitting data! We're super proud of Ethan Wachendorf for designing and leading this experiment. Excited to see the effect of sap flow rate on disease progression and vice versa. #oakwilt #sapflow #transpiration #wilt

Feels great to be back in the woods, a place that was part of my PhD journey @tmilesmsu.bsky.social . Today helping Ethan, a grad student with @MartinChilvers1, as we work on oak wilt. Showing him how to spot fungal mats and tagging more oaks for our summer experiments. #forestpathology

A field day, saved from sunburn by thick clouds! We were out inoculating #wheat and #barley plots with Fusarium Head Blight and foliar pathogens. One of those days when the whole lab gets it done, many teammates not in the pictures! #AppliedWork #PlantPathology #PlantDisease

After 6–7 years in a basement lab, I’m still amazed by having windows and a view in my curent lab. You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone or till you get it back. An office with a view feels like a luxury. Eastern redbud takes me right back to spring in eastern Tennessee! #FirstPost
