Member of Congress representing California's 30th District. Pool shark. Pro: bikes, trains, housing, single payer healthcare & induction stoves!
Earlier this year, I led the fight to claw back more than $19 million in previously frozen HIV/AID prevention grants – because the LA community knows all too well the cost of ignoring HIV/AIDS. (1/2)

#TeamFriedman was proud to celebrate the new production of a new treatment to help combat infant botulism. This innovative medicine is created right here in my district at Takeda Pharmaceuticals, and was developed in collaboration with the California Department of Public Health. (1/2)

I was honored to join Massis Weekly to celebrate their 45th anniversary. Massis Weekly is volunteer-powered and has been a key source of news and information for Armenian Americans and the larger diaspora. (1/2)

Public transit riders (myself included) are always looking to stay safe on our commutes.

This is why I'm leading a new bipartisan bill to ensure transit agencies can hire police officers.

November is National Homelessness Awareness Month. In recognition, I visited My Friend's Place: a local nonprofit that provides young adults the resources they need to transition out of homelessness. (1/2)

Everyone deserves a warm meal & plenty of holiday cheer this Thanksgiving. I was so honored to help dish up some of that at Hollywood Food Coalition's Thanksgiving Meal Service.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is about showing up for each other.

Grateful to join Union Station Homeless Services to help prepare meals for Angelenos who need a little extra support this holiday season.

I hopped on LAist to talk about my newest bipartisan bill that will make our public transit more safe – without fare increases or reductions in service.

Take a listen to a snippet of it here:
November 26, 2025 at 11:30 PM
This bill makes that real by:
1️⃣Hiring more transit officers
2️⃣Upgrading safety infrastructure
3️⃣Lifting the cost burden off local taxpayers

There's a reason it's already endorsed by the TWU and ATU.

🧵No one should feel like public transit is too dangerous to ride. That's why I'm leading new, bipartisan legislation with Rep. Malliotakis.

The Safe and Affordable Transit Act is commonsense — and it will help restore safety and confidence in our public transportation.

Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance, a solemn time to reflect on the lives of our transgender friends, neighbors, and loved ones cut short due to transphobia. (1/3)

Thank you USO, for allowing me the honor of lending a hand to put together care kits for our brave service members.

This is just a small token of appreciation for those who protect us day in and day out. In Congress, I’ll continue to advocate for the needs of service members and their families.

Standing beside Epstein survivors at tonight’s vigil, we got the news: the Senate will pass the Epstein files bill unanimously.

The truth is coming and the days of protecting those who committed these heinous crimes are over. Honored to stand with survivors and fight for long-overdue justice.

Months ago I grilled this FEMA Administrator on why 80% of Texans in crisis got silence instead of help. He had no answers.

The next FEMA head must have relevant expertise and treat the job seriously. Their performance is a matter of life or death.

American Education Week starts now!

From my Education Advisory Committee to my work with local parents and teachers, you can count on me to fight for your children’s education.

Organizations like My Friend's Place offer a helping hand to young adults who need an extra boost to get housing or put food on the table. Unfortunately, the Trump administration is putting that vital aid in jeopardy. (1/2)

Here’s the bottom line: healthcare costs are going to skyrocket for hardworking Americans across the board. Many will not be able to afford it.

I’ll keep fighting to make sure that you won’t have to pay double or even triple for basic healthcare. (1/2)

Stopped by Dialog Cafe in West Hollywood to experience one of LA’s most dazzling small businesses. I had a great conversation with Tadeh, one of the owners, about Dialog's history and incredible presence in the community, and the pressures on small businesses caused by tariffs. (1/2)

I had the great honor of speaking to students, families, & veterans at Our Lady of Lourdes during their Veterans Day ceremony.

Thank you to all those who served our nation. I’ll keep working to make sure you get the support you’ve earned and deserve.

Happy Veteran’s Day!

Every day, but especially today, we honor the men and women of our armed forces who sacrificed for our nation. I am committed to ensuring that our veterans receive the benefits and resources they deserve.

I said it on Fox News today and I’ll say it again: I won’t rubber stamp a Republican agenda that rips healthcare from millions of Americans. If the bill coming from the Senate takes away your ability to see a doctor and afford your medications, I’m a no.

I am so proud to represent Burbank, the Media City, in Congress! (2/2)
November 8, 2025 at 11:29 PM
Great to spend time with the Burbank community the State of the City Address on Thursday! I couldn't be prouder of the city's leaders, especially Mayor Nikki Perez, who are doing great work to make Burbank a more prosperous and safe place to live, work, and raise a family. (1/2)

(2/2) I’ll keep fighting in Congress to make sure young people get the support they need, including preventing essential SNAP food benefits from being used as a political pawn.
