a lot of stuff is like this lol. any language is weird/complex some way or another. but so many of the notoriously "difficult" parts of nihongo eventually click & i realize its just a simple way 2 express something thats always very roundabout in english. (i dont feel this way abt counters tho lol)

not that there arent cultural differences oc. but politeness & formality r a HUGE deal in english, just in a vibes-based, extremely complicated way. (even if, 4 example, americans r culturally "rude", we're rude in a way that constantly plays off of what it means 2 be "polite")

ive had 2 lamy safaris for a while & a few cool inks, i rly love using them (although i use them less these days cuz mechanical pencils r handy for drawing so i have them lying around more)
