Socks. All of the time (except in the shower, obviously). Which is weird because I was definitely barefoot as much as humanly possible when I was a kid.

Fantasy (high fantasy, historical fantasy, some romantasy), historical fiction, some sci-fi, speculative fiction. For nonfiction, I like books on history (particularly medieval Europe), linguistics, and art.

If it’s pretty, I keep it on my shelf. If not, I give it away. Do to money, I mostly read library books or ebooks. I only buy the physical copy if I loved it. Sometimes I’ll buy second hand books before I’ve read them because they are only a dollar or two and no great loss if I don’t like them.

Reading Tolkien. I went from reading LOTR, to linguistics, to medieval history (specifically the 12th & 13th centuries). I ended up getting my B.A. in Greek and Latin classics (mostly for the Latin). Sadly I never made it to graduate school to do medieval history as I’d planned.
