Bad at writing profiles. Cat dad to Gnocchi and (Potato) Latke (they are in my profile picture, behind and under a couch, no way to add alt text)
He/him.
"My cat is unpillable!"

No sigh I just don't know how to explain to him that it's good for him.

I have a new verse for the latke song

Take a cat and pat pat pat
Hug her till she’s flat flat flat
Don’t fry her in a pan with fat fat fat
Hanukkah kitties don’t like that
Hanukkah kitties Don’t Like That

Best sung to a cat while petting them.

Tiny Kitten Update: Today the weather is cold enough to trigger a warm-on-the-couch peace treaty between Latke and Gnocchi.

If you’re interviewing people around holiday season who will be joining your company, here’s a reminder to not ask candidates to answer Christmas-themed questions or solve xmas-themed problems.

One of my pet peeves would be solved by a Venn diagram but instead of 2 circles we have 1 shaped like Latin America, and another shaped like North America.

The intersection is shaped like Mexico.

(The peeve is that a lot of times Mexico is excluded from "North America", obviously 😉 )

Weird that a lot of the TV I watch is as background (so I mostly hear it rather than see+watch), yet I cannot listen to podcasts/audiobooks in the same kind of situations.

“You see, that person is weird about Jews. That is wrong. I propose this other, more correct way to be weird about Jews.”

- too many gentiles, unfortunately

Sharing this pic of these 2 bunnies because I don't often get to perceive bunnies in person; and these 2 are very muppet-y.

( @maimonidesnutz.bsky.social thinking of you )

An example of bad localization assumptions: if the user has selected a Latin-American country as their content region, they must want to use Spanish as their UI language, even though the system setting is English.

This gets us shit like "leaving lunes".

1) eating asparagus makes pee stink

2) pee is filtered blood

conclusion: eating asparagus makes blood stink too

@postingtreyf.bsky.social we need a shitposter with graphic design as their passion to make a version of the "when you're mean this is who you're mean to" but about Pharisees and how it just means Jews.

Note that a few days ago replies to this post where adamant that there was NO "antisemitism from the left", and today's BlueSky discourse on US politics is "AIPAC controls politicians so they do 'thing I don't like' " (e.g. gov shutdown and airflights).
The right loves to claim that antisemitism lives only on the left. But Tucker Carlson's recent Nick Fuentes interview has exposed it for the lie that it is. Todd Beeton traces how the conflict is exposing a dangerous truth about the modern GOP that they're only beginning to reckon with.

Quoting because I can't reply. Nitpick and clarification: ALT text is not a place to add bonus stuff. It's not a tool for authors to do extra funny stuff. It's so that people with special needs can participate too; use it to describe the image/video (the description can be funny I guess).

But…

I really like Lacey Chabert, so I have a higher tolerance for xmas movies if she's on it, but the premise of "HOA requires the entire neighborhood to decorate for xmas; and that that is an adorable and wholesome position" is a bridge too far.

Shloske sounds like a yum Yiddish drink, I wonder if it's a real word.

Research lates: it's a last name, and one of the search results is a person called Hearing Shloskes. A name I might use for D&D (after further checks for milkshake duckness).

Respect the audacity and ambition of a spider that spins a web across the entire front yard.

We can see it climb down (top of the video near the start) the wall (covered in clinging plants) via a thread to the web in the middle. Then stays there poking the threads of the web.

“Inquisitive young Abby is bursting at the seams with questions and feels she doesn't have the kinds of answers she's looking for. When she and her best friend, Joshua, meet a mysterious stranger in their play area, will all that change?” is the description for episode 1 of a show.

Guess which one.
