love spotting new and fun ways how researchers show group differences. here is one from Walker et al., 2025 showing transparent, overlayed density plots with circled data labels for the mean

Also suprisingly, there is widespread fear of AI's impact on intelligence and reliance. Concerns about AI making us dumb and lazy spontaneously arose across all qualitative data, and quant confirmed it: 76% think AI will make us lazier, and 62% think it will reduce intelligence. (6/8)

Surprisingly, Americans are not polarized on AI. Attitudes toward regulation and general AI sentiment show only small differences between Republicans and Democrats. We are argue that this is a window of opportunity for decision-makers. (5/8)

We presented 9 different AI roles using vignettes, and rarely found a consensus view (except for very negative responses towards AI romantic partners!) (4/8)

has anyone seen have an example of a figure that is actually a table with figures inside? i want to something like summarytools::dfSummary(), but i've never really seen it in an article. mostly i see either a table or a figure, but not a hybrid.

reorganization of DSM symptoms from N = 14.7k into a new hierarchical framework using 1) hierarchical PCA, 2) hierarchical clustering, and 3) primary and holdout samples. some disorders are well defined and others have important heterogeneity.

not a bad color palette for dataviz right? chatgpt4 came up with this 🤯

i asked for colors that represent 'redemption' for a project, and it suggested royal purple. i asked it to design a palette with that color that's colorblind friendly, distinct between colors, and beautiful. i'm impressed!

ok perhaps i'm looking for a 'explain everything' type of individual difference model that incorporates constructs known to explation ideological variation and it seems like tom costello proposed this recently.
