I think two main things:

- growing up with an emotionally distant family (which made me crave the familiar: emotionally distant relationships)
- unrealistic media portrayals of casual relationships that made them seem more desirable than they actually are

Same thing for sex while I'm on the subject. I thought emotional distance would make sex better/hotter but my consistent experience has been the exact opposite: the best sex for me has always in the context of a healthy and stable and emotionally intimate relationship

One of the hard relationship lessons I had to learn was that the thing I'm actually looking for in a relationship is emotional intimacy and not emotional distance

I used to think that emotional distance would make me safer in a relationship but it actually makes the relationship less safe

I know it might seem that I'm coming across as against all uses of LLMs, but my job is actually LLM-related research (see: github.com/Gabriella439...)

My actual position is that LLMs lower coding productivity when used for vibe coding, but can still improve productivity for other applications
