Got a new camera lense, a smc takumar 120 f2.8
Here's some pictures I took with it from a rooftop downtown. Does great in low light conditions.
It is zoomed in enough to get tight shots but not so zoomed in its unusable unless you are a mile away.

This very good video had inadvertently radicalized me against sorrento valley and UTC

This is a good project but these places also seem to be intentionally anti urban and we should instead focus on discouraging further development there and build up downtown instead

Disappointing to see a sitting Democratic Congressperson repeat misinformation about High-Speed Rail. The Central Valley route was approved by voters in 2008, and the High-Speed Rail Authority just released a plan to get service into population centers (including SD) only 6 years after the IOS.

On thing that bothers me so much about the Abundance movement is that they use California High Speed Rail as their poster child about how we can’t get anything done...

There are better examples that you can use! Do better!

The CA High-Speed Rail Authority has released a Project Update Report with new cost and ridership estimates. Costs have come down, service in the Central Vally is set to start 2032, and if the legislature guarantees funding, we could have Gilroy-Palmdale service by 2038.

One of my coworkers lives in the college area and has some very unique takes on housing. Pro upping a block away from her house. Against adus because they're next door, but super pro mixed use a block away becayse that means ice-cream shops in walking distance.
Did I find the lowest radius nimby?

Great report. Transit projects go through extensive public outreach and democratic approval. After the public is on board, unaccountable 3rd parties slow them to a crawl with bad faith demands, subjective standards, and unclear or ad-hoc process. Transit agencies need more control over permitting.
Obviously you should read from cover-to-cover Circulate's latest report "The Powerless Brokers: Why California Can't Build Transit." www.circulatesd.org/powerlessbro...

But, you can also just read the executive summary and pretend you read the whole thing.

San Diego bans landlords from overcharging utilities after tenants paid $102/month for trash while city charges much less.

Landlords must now show their bills and math. Seems fair—if you're splitting costs, everyone should see the actual bill.

San Diego may ban landlords and billers like Conservice from overcharging renters for utilities as soon as August after a city council vote.
