If you are a federal worker being offered a buyout, I would advise against taking it.
Of course, this is a personal decision for everyone and it’s your choice.

Too much gamedev advice is dispensed assuming the end goal is a commercially viable game and maybe that's a problem? Making a financially load bearing game is so close to impossible that maybe setting that as the end point for all game development is creating wildly unrealistic expectations

MMO default hotkeys love to go like "these buttons closest to WASD? They're for opening the completed quests menu, toggling between walk and run, unsheathing your weapon and viewing the skill tree. Hope you like stretching over to hit the 9 key for your timing-based ability."

It occurs to me, after reading posts getting it spectacularly wrong, that there are a lot of misconceptions over how game studios organize and, in particular, who makes the actual decisions about what ends up in your game. Much of it is by folks who don't *try* to get it... but not all, surely. 1/🧵
