I'm always gonna be here recommending @tkingfisher.com and her sworn soldier series. It mid-victorian-ish cosy horror but as a very not a horror type I still love this series and the books are novella length and surprisingly delightful reads.

Rereading this now I'm properly conscious and I apologise for the terrible English.

Yeah, this was my entire thought too.

Eh, you can't have predicted that one of your readers a few years late to the party would somehow combine, with her wife, the super niche combo to make whole chunks of a novel a weirdly personal attack.

Yeah. I murdered my dexterity via carving a local ghost (4th century Roman soldier, from the knees up) on my 'bigger than my torso' pumpkin and am typo-y atm.
