Fwiw the devs on their discord have talked about adding built-in client side prediction — I believe by running a slice of the server on the client and do a roll back if the server disagrees. Of course, there's no official/public roadmap yet

Well... I tried out their Bit craft open beta and they, the original designers of STDB, chose a point&click movement system which definitely is reasonable... but my love for EVN is unreasonable and I'm going to try to keep the asteroids style movement if at all possible

The story&co-op is nice, but gameplay is still repetitive, most missions you can expect to be worn down to your mech's bones even ON the easiest difficulty. You can upgrade your mechs and your pilots skills with them, but you HAVE to keep taking the heaviest mechs you have access to just to survive.
