Comics Workshop went well at the the Forest Row Festival yesterday. Here's my 'Anatomy of a Comic' hand-out I (rather hastily) made for a previous workshop a couple of years ago that remains quite useful.

Feel I should post some Star Wars art today - in fact I think I only have one thing, this invite I drew for my son and his friend's 5th birthday (7 years ago). #starwarsday #starwars

Well, okay, not too close - but it immediately reminded me of it.

I appear to be losing friends on Facebook. After a very short investigation I discovered it was me, unfriending people who persistently create and post AI images. Quite the epidemic. But case solved.

Amusing note: a Greek newspaper took my A-Z Captain Haddock image off the internet, mistaking it for one by Hergé himself (!), and included it in a feature. A member of the @tintinologist.bsky.social forum spotted it, thinking it didn't look quite like a Hergé (quite right).

It's (astonishingly) 17 years since I did a comic characters A-Z on Facebook, with readers voting on which character I should draw every day. It was great fun and spawned a few other great A-Zs in its wake. Here's an image I made after it finished.

I've just realised this wasn't the first album I bought with my own money - it was the first record, but it was a single. The first album I bought was this one (image) with my first ever pay packet (working for Neil Gaiman's dad), age 13.

And while I'm on the subject - I drew this tribute to Valérian & Laureline on the occasion of Mézières' death in 2022. (My French publisher shared it on a BD group and I watched as the comments absolutely trashed it!)

David is an amazing illustrator - he drew a comic I was writing for Cosmorama back in the late 80s/90s called The Tower and did the cover for issue 2 - he was incredible back then. (Steve Pugh on issue 3 there!)

Do you remember these as well? DC Superheroes magazine with covers by Alan Craddock - early 80s. I loved this WWII one.
