I dismantled a CD player from 1993 trying to fix the wonky carousel. 2 hours later (and several leftover screws) I am greasy and sweaty, the carousel is still wonky, and MP3 players are still great.
I'm gonna go clean a toilet.

My wife was an only child. This album is 50 years old and still has her childhood address label on it. Listening to it tonight, it sounds brand new. My younger sister had a sleepover in 1987 and she and her punk friends threw my records at our bedroom walls in order to destroy my posters.

Tower Grove Farmers Market is full of pleasant people and cute dogs. There is much talking of football and the weather. I picked up a turkey from a farmer and I hugged a tree.

IKEA provided an amount of manual labor sufficient to ignore the outside world for two whole days. Dismantled a tank of a 90s stereo cabinet and replaced it with a stereo sideboard from IKEA. First time both of our record, cassettes and graphic novel collections have fit in the same spots. 🤓

The rack was empty this morning. We have to trim down regular fire wood to fit, but our tiny but mighty cast iron wood stove is now stocked for Winter.

Stay at home vacay this week so I removed the Halloween decor and installed Thanksgiving. I'm thankful I'm still allowed to know that all humans are worthy of care and connection and I don't have to pretend it's just a belief. I'm uninterested in living under fascism, however that shakes out. ✊

As a big gay nerd with an extreme bummer for a father, I admit, I teared up during the intro to the first new Katamari Damacy game in 15 years, released today. I got the bonus edition with all the songs from former versions because they are worth it. 🌈
