I’d heard the rumors about Plum Island and used to kayak around it & Montauk occasionally searching for signs as to what nefarious experiments had gotten out of control and I am sorry to report I saw nothing. No monsters sighted. As you were.

I feel now is the perfect time to reveal this important detail. Back when Lyme Disease was first discovered, the prevailing winds were much more consistent from the southwest. Therefore, the disease was leaked not from the Plum Island lab, but rather from the snack bar at Claudio's in Greenport. 😉

IMO people with credentials who do this kind of thing need to be kicked out of the profession

that's the lesson of the Flexner Report and the entire move towards grounding medicine in scientific practice and rigor
