It’s been decades since I read the play, had forgotten many of the funniest bits.

I have accepted that dinner can be the second meal of the day, eaten in early afternoon, but draw the line at eating dinner again come evening.

We had that debate yesterday, keep up.

What do you mean, “sandwiches for dinner”? You already ate dinner!

Just tell them everything since 1987 is post-MALONE.

Fun fact I just learned: Afternoon tea in Britain evolved when artificial lighting happened, dinner/supper started getting pushed back to 8-9pm (to accommodate later work by men), but women still felt hungry by habit around 4-5.

Pretty sure I’ve made this objection before but a meal served at 1:30pm is lunch! You’re having Thanksgiving lunch!

I can’t find any indication that Janus plans to release it or give it a qualifying run this year.

Looks like he was a dad at 21. But his persona at that time (and I watched BOSOM BUDDIES as a kid when it aired) was *so* far from Family Man.

Stunned to learn from this that Colin Hanks was born years before Hanks even did BOSOM BUDDIES. (Not sure *why* I’m stunned exactly, as my parents had me at ages 23 and 24.)

The piece may be good but the headline is bizarrely phrased. Makes it sound as if ONE BATTLE is somehow an ongoing concern, as if its actors are still working.

Only way it makes sense is if they’re carrying the film across the Oscar goal line via promotion.

Oh I just now discovered you can filter actors by billing order. (He played the title role in DR. AKAGI.)

Btw this is one reason it was worth the hassle for me to log every film I’ve ever seen on Lbox. Takes me seconds to look up any actor and filter it to just the films I’ve seen (in chronological order, reverse chronological order, alphabetical, by popularity, on and on).

(I myself have seen him in 18 films, but that includes a bunch of lesser-known Miikes.)

Pretty sure you've seen one or more of MABOROSI, SHALL WE DANCE?, THE EEL, DR. AKAGI, ZATOICHI (Kitano), and SHOPLIFTERS, to name just the most prominent-in-the-U.S. films featuring Emoto. But maybe never in a role that made him stand out.
