Congratulations to Yameema Mitha and her supervisor, Prof. John Doyle for successfully defending the thesis titled ‘The Portrayal of Pakistan and Pakistanis in Indian Hindi Cinema’!

Interesting case indeed - we should study it further! In the Palgrave book we have also some examples of sub-state entities engaging in (or at least attempting to pursue) derecognition practices!

A great deal is known about the recognition of states, but less is known about why and how states withdraw recognition of other partially recognised states.
