These are still going if anyone fancies watching @allodarlin.bsky.social tonight!

Anyone in need of 2x @allodarlin.bsky.social tickets for London (EArtH) tomorrow? Gimme a shout. Gutted that we can’t make it anymore.

Thanks Tom! Hope the show goes well, was chatting to Bill about trying to drop by and say hi at soundcheck if we can fit that in, but still sad not to make the show.

Logistics got complicated. We are in town for Clash of the Comics tonight though!

@fikarecordings.com don’t know if you have a wait list or anything!

It’s certainly humbling going back to being a total newbie! How are you finding it (other than hard!)?

Thanks pal! I was actually ready to immediately quit after this but I got to shadow some IPR-ing yesterday and just watching and copying Becks helped.

Mostly I have learnt that I do not ever want to be front OPR, and also that I need a hella lot of practice. Who knew that when you remove the sense of touch/the actual being in the pack, it is VERY hard to see penalties or know what a pack is.

Started the next step in my roller derby journey and am attempting to learn to ref. It’s damn hard. As seen in these photos showing 1) nervous laughter and 2) sheer panic/no thoughts.
Three roller derby referees pictured against a wall of yellow bleachers. One is seriously doing some refereeing. The other two are laughing; one in a casual fashion, the other in a very nervous fashion. I am the latter. A photograph of a roller derby jam. In the middle of the shot you can see a referee - me - staring blankly at the track trying to remember to have thoughts. Just any thoughts.

Thanks to @dj-acid-reflux.bsky.social for this package and kickstarting my plans to read at least SOME things that aren’t serious, work-related non-fiction. Bonus Peej for #ProofOfCat purposes.
A tabby cat is sleeping on a duvet printed with colourful foliage. She is “posing” next to two books by Tom Cox, along with two postcards and a bookmark.

An incredibly long shot, but does anyone have any leads on accessible accommodation for a medium-term rent (6 months) in New York? Would need lifts, wheelchair access, hoists etc.

Oh Vinnie, thank you so much for posting this. I’d been wondering if there was going to be a chance to pay respects and be with friends (whether in person or virtually)

Only just seen this - fantastic news! Congratulations!

If you see this post a bridge
A steel bridge in Washington state, with four men walking across it. The bridge featured in Twin Peaks.

Genuinely never realised it did not fry things. Wild.

I love it. Rewatched it the other day having found it a really remarkable watch the first time round (there is very little band stuff after that first scene)

I often skip the chats at the end tbh.

Tried reading it as a teen. Got very angry with being completely unable to remember who anyone was. Never picked it up again.

Always a delight to watch @thebeths.bsky.social, even more so in a beautiful venue like Manchester’s Albert Hall. (Forever jealous of the venues here and yes it is my fault for moving away)

The “trans people in sport” discourse is flaring up again this morning. It’s the same question: do trans women have a biological advantage? (Notice how they erase trans men entirely.)

Here’s my hot take: So what if they do? 🧵
