I've identified those as superellipsoids before, but… WTF is a squircle?

Silver lining: Human-shaped robots inevitably turn on their creator first.

I still think they should create an extra-special prize for him, the Alfred Nobel Memorial Trump Prize for Lifetime Achievement, Excellence and Large Hands If You Know What I Mean, with an oversized golden (leaf, not solid) trophy. That way they can easily disavow it once he's gone.

Or alternatively, "Life sucks and then you die".

I say, fix chronic pain and illness and only _then_ start the research on longevity and immortality. :/

To be fair, the planet managed to survive the Cold War led by a senile former Hollywood pretend cowboy.

Just saying, the whole television personality thing isn't as big a deal as… well _everything else_ about Trump and co.

Seems others have had concerns about this since the preview, like @pxlnv.bsky.social - pxlnv.com/linklog/roun...

I can legitimately say this is not just an annoyance, but is actually making me worry about using this app I've used daily for _decades_ now. I need to see the whole page when proofing.

And by "bypass" you mean when the appliance is accidentally shoved against a wall, or when it decides to yeet the power cable across a burning stove, right?

Wh… whuh… WHY?! Was a simple bimetallic strip thermostat cutoff not an option?

Suggestion for a ThePiHut product: a keycap set of black, olive-brown and red-orange, a pot of beige plastic dye, and a MicroSD card that boots straight into BeebEm.

Take my money.

Ah, and IIRC, Labour Party rules dictate the leader and deputy leader have to be part of the PLP, ie. MPs.

Sure, they could change the rules, but that's just not going to happen.

When it comes down to it, if serious, he'd have to win an election first _before_ running as leader.

_In theory_, yes, but in practice it'd never work. One barely-workable option would be to appoint him to the House of Lords, but that'd obliterate his left-wing credibility, and it'd still be far less than ideal. I just can't see the PLP permitting a non-MP leader, certainly not long-term.

Hmm. It's still not beige with black and orange keys. Seriously, a Beeb Special Edition would sell like hot cakes to British geeks of a certain age.

I guess now I could replace the keycaps and maybe dye the white case beige… this might be a worthy project to video.

I'm desperately trying to resist vibe coding this as a game.

I just tried to resurrect the Xavier NX for frigate.video support this week. Frustrated me so much I ended up ordering a Pi AI HAT, even with it using up the NVMe drive's PCIe port; having to use a USB SSD is less hassle that trying to sort out the Xavier and its weird EoL OS and software.

I've had a Jetson TX2, Nano, Xavier NX, and at least one other I can't remember. Every time I've used them, they've ended up more trouble than they're worth, what with the weird JetPack / L4T mess.

The killer feature of Raspberry Pi over every other board is Raspberry Pi OS (lite).
