I've just discovered a welsh relative who it appears was a pacifist during World War 2. Any suggestions on where to begin my research on Heddychwyr Cymru, which I believe was the Welsh organisation closely associated with the Peace Pledge Union. #pacifist #ww2 #welshgenealogy

Thank you for the reply. He was a free passenger, he went on to be part owner of a gold mine and did fairly well for himself. I have copies of some letters sent home to family at the time.

A great great uncle was born in North Wales in 1830. He died in Stawell Australia in 1902. Currently researching his journey. Any pointers? #ozgenealogy

Thanks for sharing this. I've discovered several mariners during my family history research. I'm from a family known in the village I grew up in as "the captains" because of a great great grandfather who was a sea captain in the mid 1800's
