Hannah Williams, art historian @ QMUL, will give the other keynote address in Paris. Williams is co-director of “a digital decolonial art history project” exploring connections between Haiti (formerly French colony of Saint-Domingue) and the Paris art world c. 1780-90s. Join us!

Daniel Foliard, whose recent book The Violence of Colonial Photography was shortlisted for the British Academy’s Book Prize for Global Cultural Understanding, will be one of two keynote speakers at the SGNCS international symposium in Paris, 17-19 June 2026! Proposals due 1 November.

Prof Emma Tyler, one of 3 presenters on panel “Languages, Materialities, and Intellectual Traditions: LCAHM Perspectives,” during the Congress dinner. Tyler is Head of School of Languages, Cultures, Art History, and Music (LCAHM). She was joined by colleagues Berny Sèbe & postgraduate Tomoki Yamada.
