Yeah, it's on the list. HK's DebugMod is kind of an amalgamation of a dozen people's patchwork improvements, whereas silksong's current debug is a single person who seems to not be basing their mod off HK's. Once we have a functioning API & ruleset it will be prio1 on my own side :)

Thorns does much less than you think and is generally considered a net negative, since it _reduces_ how long you have control while invincible after you get hit.

I'd offer a loadout of Shaman Stone, Strength, Mark of Pride, Unbreakable Heart. Quick slash can replace MoP if desired.

Shaman Stone + use spells! Dive gives you almost a full second of invincibility after you hit the ground, and the enlarged Shade Soul can clear enemies away from you. Shriek can deal with airborne enemies quickly.

Once you reach God Tamer, killing the beast will end the fight early.

'indie scene is stale bc of these 3 mechanics apart from all the other immensely popular titles (and many more that aren't as popular) without those mechanics bc I don't think they're interesting'
April 28, 2025 at 4:29 AM
...ok? you stated the indie scene was uninspiring to you because of the presence of 3 elements then asked to name a single popular indie without them.

all the games I listed are popular, just because you aren't interested doesnt mean the scene hasn't diversified

the thread above your first reply was literally talking about games with none of those but go off ig

pulling just from my own library:

Celeste, Ultrakill, Signalis, Outer Wilds, Baba is You, Return of the Obra Dinn were all immensely popular and have none of those.

hilarious thing to say considering. y'know. Linux is being discussed.

you understand there are ways for developers to get paid that don't require consumers to pay an exorbitant license that doesn't even go to the devs, right?

The idea that games now need to have a development timeline under 5 years with consistent updates throughout is wild to me.

'But Kickstarter-' the kickstarter had Wii U support on it, get Real. shit changes, and the post-launch content they added more than made up for it.

People complaining 'but they could just update us to let us know the game still exists' makes me worry object permanence isn't real anymore.

Like they're a 3 man studio with millions in their coffers, they're not going bust any time soon.
