My mother-in-law (b 1911) lived in her home from the 1937 until her death in 2000. She had a very similar radio in her home by front door. The family sold the house with that radio in it. House went back up for sale 2 more times, radio was still there (lower r). 1/

Thing is, I don't think a lot of these woman think that's botched--they want identifiable results--think Kristi Noem, she is unrecognizable from her former self.

2024👇 Women have every right to take care of themselves the way they wish. What disturbs me is how unnatural many of them look after their procedures. Virtually to a woman, they were far more beautiful without any work done. I'm wondering who are these surgeons that make a lot of money doing this?

1954. Watching Mad Men was like watching my childhood. I remembered the cars, the fashions. We even had a gold rimmed glass clock on our shelves that was on their set during the first season.

Trump continues to call Biden "Sleepy Joe" when just a few weeks ago (Nov. 6), he fell asleep at his Resolute desk for 20 minutes, not during a regular workday, but a day where a large press conference was taking place IN THE OVAL OFFICE. You can not make this up--what a hypocrite.

1976 Arizona State grad here, wearing my maroon turtleneck and "No Pity For The Kitty" tee shirt, watching UA Wildcats vs ASU. 52nd anniversary of the game my best college boyfriend took us to in Tucson in 1974-Picnic of turkey sandwiches and a thermos of ice tea in the park, 64 degrees at kickoff.

I like to look at places with Google satellite maps--because I'm homebound with complicated medical issues, or because I grew up with a dad who always had a roadmap or atlas spread out on our counter, I don't know why. Look at what I found parked at LaGuardia! He won't need this, he's got a 747 now.

Every time I see Trump's mug shot, I think about how he must have stood in front of a mirror, practicing different looks. This isn't a pose he'd have come up with on the fly. It was important for him to look powerful, menacing. I think he made himself look pompous and foolish, like Ted Baxter.

I watch Mary Tyler Moore reruns each a.m. to escape. This is from a show that aired 2/28/76. Georgette wore a rented tux to an event because Ted didn't want to buy a gown for her that she'd wear only once. She said they looked like "the top of a gay wedding cake," 49 yrs ago--remarkably prescient! 🏳️‍🌈

Last evening's MD DC-11 crash reminds me of the American flight 191 crash of an MD DC-10 in a field just beyond an O'Hare runway on May 25, 79. I flew to Phoenix out of O'Hare 2 wks later, flew right over the blackened field left from that crash where 273 died, 271 on the plane--it was unnerving.

This is the dining rm in a Zillow listing for a $900K house built in 2017 in suburban Chicago. It has a traditional buffet, and a picnic table w/a banquette. Nope, nope, nope. Kitchen, maybe (although I'm not a banquette fan), not in a formal dining room. Granted I am old, but give me a chair, pls.

Have you seen the "cover page" of the USDA website? It's been Trumpified.

I was a special education teacher for 26+ years. Most funding for education in my state comes from state and local taxes, but not special education--that comes from the federal government, dispersed from the Department of Education. WWF/Secy McMahon has been dropped on her head one too many times.

Here's a photo taken at Mar-a-lago in 2000. No wonder Trump is frightened of the Epstein files. Look at who Melania is with--Epstein, and the man who just lost EVERYTHING due to his association with Epstein, Andrew (formerly known as Prince)..

Watching Lucy Dacus perform her song Modigliani on the Daily Show. Of course, the set has reproductions of Modigliani's portraits. This one is included, and I am familiar with it--friends of my parents had a reproduction over their fireplace. We'd visit when I was very young, and I was fascinated.

Continuing my rant against the removal of larger plate glass mirrors in bathrooms, I submit this, from a Zillow listing of a local home: I'm 5'2'', could I see my entire face in this mirror? Could a child? I think not. I HATE this trend! It's absolutely impractical. Hang this mirror upright instead.

Impressive! Wondering what's going on in the minds of those ICE fools, thinking they are more superior than the hero they are arresting. My husband is only 81 but out there protesting wearing his Vietnam Veteran cap. Although ICE has been in neighboring towns detaining people, they've left us alone.

PS Maybe I should have said I spit with your mom! I'm sure I told you about the little yard gnome that sits on the shelf my tv sits on. He looks so traditional, except that he has his little arms out and his two middle fingers deployed. He's facing the screen, waiting for Trump to show up.

The East Wing was built in 1948. Asbestos was widely used in construction up until the 1980s (and wasn't even outlawed then) for insulation, and incorporated into cement for roofing, siding, plaster, floor tiles. Did ANYONE think of that before they started chomping away with a back hoe??? Shameful.

1959 Mayor Daley, Governor Stratton greet Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip in front of Buckingham Fountain in Grant Park. Photo from Growing up in Chicago Facebook page. This is exactly what I remember the skyline to be when I was 5 and Mom took me to Bozo broadcast in the Prudential.🤡❤️
