On this day 1982, Arsenal beat Aston Villa 2-1 despite goalkeeper George Wood being sent off in the 27th minute. 18 year old Stewart Robson donned the green jersey and was only beaten once.

On this day 1934, the Arsenal programme reported on Ted Drake's 4 goal haul the previous week at Chelsea. Fans who didn't make it to Stamford Bridge saw Ted repeat the feat against Wolves.

The date on which the Football club now known as Arsenal FC was founded is a somewhat grey area.
However, at their annual dinner in May 1890, secretary George Osborne stated that the club records had recorded the date as 1 December 1886.

Chelsea FC was formed in March 1905. They attempted to bribe West Ham to help them join the Southern League but were rejected.
They were accepted by the Football League in May, despite having no players and having never played a game of football.

Some facts about Chelsea FC.
They've never played a home game in Chelsea.
They don't own Stamford Bridge.
They don't own the name Chelsea Football Club.
If they moved to a new ground in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea they would no longer be allowed to be called Chelsea
