Think much of the over-parenting we despise stems from the early on fear of the driver.
If parents weren't terrified of our streets kids would have so much more freedom and independence which might get them comfortable with their children's ability to navigate the world without them.

I’m reading a book on paper and came across a word I didn’t know. I found myself tapping on the page to get its definition. It didn’t work. Muscle memory in the wrong context is so embarrassing.

A big part of living in SF appears to be planning on exactly when to leave the house to hit the optimal weather window for the outing. Also, how much or little to wear or carry with you based on the destination.
