Started the Evening with a 29yo #Bunnahabhain and now on to a 53.72 , a 10yo SMWS #Caolila from 1993 at 61% , an old school Islay a fitting tribute to Robin .

We were very sad to read on Martine 's Timeline about the passing of "The Whisky Bard" Robin Laing . We'd known Robin for a good few years First meeting at the Feis ile, then at various appearances in our Native North East of England.

#Caolila number 3 , another 12yo by whiskybroker this time finished in an Oloroso Hoggie , a lot more pleasing to my palate , the oloroso is very dry but it compliments the Spirit (better than the previous Wine one...)

#Caolila number two bottled by Whiskybroker , a 12yo finished in an Australian red wine barrel. Not a huge fan of red wine and of finishing in it , distracts from the original spirit .

Congratulations to Francis on the 20th anniversary of being given the Licence to operate Daftmill, We were lucky enough to go to the official opening the next summer and in 2015 Francis allowed us to take a 2007 Sample to the Spirit of Toronto to use as a ringer in our Caol Ila Tasting.

Talking of Amazon and #Whisky , just came across an offer of a SMWS 15yo Islay (it shows a Caol Ila in the picture) and 1 years membership for £100 , given that the average 15yo is £99 a bottle and one years membership is £85 bit of a no-brainer !

Luckily I'm working inside at the moment , Doing the BMS controls for a heating syste , This is the view I had earlier , It's an old Tramway Generating Station that is now a church (!?!?), I have been up higher on the Spyder that is in the Pictures up to the de-strat fans. Not for the faint hearted!

Another Wine Society Dram , this time a Speyside 1993 31yo , Again sherried . A very dry sherry with lots of spices , must say I enjoy the previous 1991 more.

Another #FortyCreek , this one is the John K Hall Port Wood Reserve from 2012 , this was gifted to me on our visit to Toronto in 2015 by a friend and fellow Rush fan (Cheers Rob !) , an Excellent dram !!!
