Take away the other person (Ariel) and see whether you would use 'me' or 'I'. That's it. Done. A quick edit of your original tweet, and it will look much better

I was simply pointing out a basic grammatical error that you and millions of others get wrong. That is why any aspiring author needs a good editor. People will read your tweet and think, if he can't write that properly, what will the book be like. Grammar and spelling really do matter.
